Amal Camp 2005 Review|
The legendary Libyan Amal Camp ended this last Sunday 8/21, setting a new attendance record. For the ninth consecutive year, the Amal Camp managed to deliver and exceed expectations. 232 people from as far as Virginia, Connecticut, Texas and Georgia came by land and air to take part of what has become a Libyan institution and a key summer event.
Those who came were not disappointed. After games, swimming, socializing or just catching up with old friends, everyone was ready to dive into a bowl of “bazeen”, load up on some “zummitta” or snack on a few “karmoosat.”
The camp was highlighted by a town hall-style session. More than 65 young Libyans and Libyanets participated in this open forum to network and discuss hot issues relevant to their generation and the challenges facing them.
For those who were not fortunate enough to make it to this year’s fun fest, no worries. The legend will return next year August 18-20 insha Allah, so SEE YOU NEXT YEAR.
