Moments To Remember

I went to a German boarding school in southern Germany run by penguins (nuns), and I soon had to learn the way of the Germans. I met special friend. While I was in the fourth grade, Rita came into my friendship circle. She was such a beautiful girl, so full of life. We shared lunches, future desires and most of all a love that I felt would never end. In the sixth grade, Rita started expressing her feeling toward me, which eventually left me speechless. I never missed a day of seeing her. Because Ritas mother knew we had such a special friendship, I became weekend guest at their home. I didnt know what love meant, but in due course I became so affected by her kindheartedness, I developed some emotional connection and because her parents were worried , and thought it would affect me too much at my age, the invitations were canceled. I still saw her at the school lunches, dinners, and various classes, and we met after school at the Sternberger Lake. The visits continued until I became 14 years old. I moved to the USA to attend college, and she went to England to as well. I was a teenager and then my letters never stopped or came back unanswered. When I eventually returned to my boarding school to visit after spending one year at college in the USA, I called Rita's parents only to learn that her brother at the age of 21 had passed away in a car accident. I was devastated! I became very close to Rita and her parents started to love me more that I thought at first. One night I promised Rita that whence I finished college I would ask her parents for permission to merry her, she smiled, and her tears were so warm I still feel them today. I finished college, I asked her parents for their blessing, and they were glad to offer them. I bought the ring, and we arrange the wedding date. Friends wished all well, the penguins at the school were ecstatic. I was about to have a family of my own since I never had one. Rita has finished her finals at Oxford law exams, passed with excellence, and we were off to Hawaii for two vacations. Rita went to beach with my friends girlfriend (now his wife) to surf. Few hours later I was awaken up to bad news. She drowned and so was my love. Now I know that I will see Rita and again enjoy a friendship that will be forever when my time comes to leave this earth.

Today is her birthday, February 16, 2009.
Thank you for allowing me to share with you my day.

Raymond
