Dear Libyan Scholarship Students,

Greetings from CBIE and Happy New Year!

The purpose of the message is to introduce CBIE to you and to provide you with an update about the transition of the management of your scholarship program from the Libyan People’s Bureau Cultural Section in Washington DC to CBIE..

CBIE is a not-for-profit educational association made up of nearly 200 school boards, colleges, universities and associates. It is involved in both aid-supported and trade-related educational projects around the world. CBIE has extensive experience managing scholarship programs and has managed the Libyan Scholarship Program in Canada from 1981 to 2001. During those 20 years, we worked closely with your Ministry representatives and maintained a strong relationship with the scholarship students.

CBIE is expected to assume responsibility for the management of the Libyan Scholarship Program in the United States on February 1, 2010. CBIE appreciates the efforts being made by the Ministry of Education and Scientific Research in Libya, the Libyan Embassy and the Cultural Section in Washington DC during the transition phase.

To assist CBIE in this transition period, we ask that you complete the two attached forms (consent form and contact update form) and return them to us by email tobpeck@cbie.ca or by fax to 1-613-237-1073 as soon as possible.

CBIE is excited to be managing the Libyan Scholarship Program and our staff members are looking forward to assisting each of you in meeting your educational objectives in the United States. We will be in touch with you once the transfer of your student files is completed to provide you with information about how you can contact us in the future.

Please accept our best wishes for success, health and happiness in 2010!

Yours sincerely,

Ms. Kemale Pinar
