Libyan Ambassador's visit to Los Angeles Oct 17th & 18th 2007
The Libyan Ambassador Ali Aujali has conducted a successful visit to Los Angeles last week during which he had met with several State and local authorities to discuss the opening of a direct line between the port of Los Angeles and Tripoli, and also the opening of direct flight between the Airport of Tripoli and Los Angeles International airport.
From their end, Rand Corporation had organized a lunch round table meeting on the Ambassador's honor to discuss several issues concerning the development of the health care and education systems,the infrastructure, the providing of different researches in diverse sectors to support Libya in their reconstructing programs. Mr Aujali had met with Rand Executive Director and several other Directors who provided a detailed explanations of how Libya can benefit from their services. Rand is non profit organization that work also with the US Government. The company had conducted several huge projects in multiple sectors and in many different countries around the world and now there ready to work with Libya.
Later on that day, Mr. Aujali had met again with members of the LA Chamber of commerce who had organized a reception inviting prominent business leaders form the area, a press conference was held during which Mr. Aujali has given a sincere and transparent explanation on the investment opportunities in Libya. Everyone looked content with his responses therefore this visit was successful to the opinion of all who attended this event because of the importance of the people who attended it, the types of project discussed and finaly because of the development in the diplomatic relationships between the two countries.
