Rashad.... Are You Mad..!

Good God Mr. Rashad....what are you telling us... or, what are you attempting to deliver in your letter to Abu Janah..! there are so many contradictions in your letter that one can't help but to ask.. are you telling us that you are not to judge... but in fact your whole letter is simply that.
Are you telling us that our " Islam" allowed the Sahabh to sell the children of non Muslims as part of the spoils of war...!!! What happened to kindness and mercy to your enemy, especially to women and Children ??. Did we actually used to force people to become Muslims, as the Christians did..! " La Karahiyyatu Fe Addin " What about " Lakum Deenukum wa liya Deen " What about Us Muslims, love and respect all people of the scriptures.... this is what we are telling the world today...but, back then we were actually butchering them because they refused to become Muslims. These are the contradictions that we have to debate and question, and true Muslims are having to struggle with all these issues.

Truth to be told, I remain struck by the clear and obvious fact that you are remarkably ignorant of what Abu Janah is telling us... You may find his lines offensive by your standards, but I bet that there are countless readers find his subtle, and some times not so subtle questions and jabs... to be straight to the core issues of many Muslims today.
We have been told , just read, memorize, and never question your elders. But, dear Rashad... now- a days, in the ( 21oneth ) Century, in the age of enlightenment, we have become restless, wanting to know, to ask and wander, and yes, question, for I did question Sheik Ali Shwaiter In Tripoli some 60 years earlier, and I am very glad I did...

How can we believe that after all the stories that had been related to so many people by simply, " He said that, according to what was told to that person, whom he heard that in the city of ... it was told to the learned teacher, by the eminent schooler of some hundreds of years past .. that Omar told some of his closest companions some Five hundred years ago, that..... khila...khala... and Ruwiya " you get the idea"

Rashad...Do you get the picture now.. my good man..?? Abu Janah is challenging your sense of reasoning and engaging the minds to do some thinking and exposing us to the many contradictions, and at the same time, wanting people like you to ponder the possibility just for once, what if the true meanings of the original message were lost in the delivery, or, in the interpretation of what was actually meant, another possibility, what if from amongst all those who supposed to have related the teachings, have themselves deviated just a bit... to interject their own thinking, or their own expectations as to how an event may have occurred. After all....soo many people, told soo many stories, many different ways, and the truth may have been lost. Abu Janah... is telling us that throughout our history, many people are having problems relating the same story, and struggling to come to an agreement as to what teaching, and whom should we believe!

Rest assured my good man, Islam belongs to 1.3 Billion people, not just the Libyan people, but, Islam will be soo very greatly served, if the doors are left wide open for all to ask, wander, and explore the many possibilities, and even challenge the old ways. I should like to think, that you wouldn't want all Muslims to think, speak and dress alike...! As for Bu Janah.... He is Terrific.
