Open Letter to HRH Prince Andrew

With great dismay the Libyan people followed your short visit to the dictator Gathafi in Libya to promote British trade and business. I personally don't blame you for doing the job we the tax payers are paying you for, however, I and the Libyan people strongly object to appeasing a known terrorist regime. Dealing with outlaw and criminal regimes such as Gathafi's regime gives the wrong signals to everyone. The hypocrite Governments of the West are rewarding Gathafi for his terrorist actions against the Libyans and people from many other countries including Britain. The money grabbing multinational companies are using politicians to gain lucrative Oil contracts and racing full speed to do business with mass murder Gathafi and his henchmen.

Since the illegitimate takeover by Gathafi in 1969, overthrowing a democratic and legitimate government of Libya, the Libyan people have been living in fear and suffered appalling atrocities at the hands of Gathafi. Gathafi's regime is responsible for the death of many students who had been tortured before they hanged them. Thousands of Libyan prisoners remain in jails without legal rights living in very poor health conditions. The mascre of 1200 personr in 1996 in Abu Saleem prison by Gathafi's security. The killing of Libyan dissidents in various European countries, many of them in Britain in the 1980s. Gathafi trained IRA terrorists and supplied them with explosives, bombs and guns which terrorised the British people for years suffered the consequences of Gathafi's criminal actions. The murder of WPC Yvonne Fletcher in St James's Square in London in 1984. The downing of Pan Am plane of Lockerbie in 1986 killing 276 people. The crimes and terrorist acts committed by Gethafi and his regime are endless.

We, the people of Libya have experienced Gathafi's terrorism first hand, he destroyed the fabric of our society, squandered our wealth, destroyed our education and health system. He destroyed the country's infrastructure and made enemies of our neighbours and many countries around the world.

Gathafi's record on human rights is not acceptable and all the human rights organisations testify on his crimes against the Libyans.

We expect from free democratic countries to support the oppressed peoples rather than the dictators and promote the ideals of human rights, rule of law and the democratic and freedom principles.
