You can use this model letter write to the President of the United States at the following address:

Tuesday, January 20, 2006

The Honorable George W. Bush
President of the United States of America
The White House
1600 Pennsylvania Avenue NW
Washington, DC 20500

Dear Mr. President,

I am writing seeking your help in the matter of Sawt Alamel (The Voice of Hope), a Libyan radio station based in London promoting democracy, freedom and human rights.

The broadcasts of our fledgling station - along with those of CNN, several other media outlets, and even military communications between the United States and Britain – have been jammed since November by the Libyan regime headed by Col. Moammar Gaddafi.

Not only is this a violation of international law (breaking the regulations of the International Telecommunications Regulations of the U.N. International Telecommunications Union), but a blatant attempt to suppress free speech and free media.

Mr. President, the Libyan regime is intentionally practicing electronic piracy, and we desperately need your help in standing up to this tyrannical act. We are not asking for much, only the right to resume our broadcasts and practice free speech.

Thank you for your time and consideration.

Sincerely,
