Dr Jaballah Mussa's Article|
Dear Dr Ibraheem
I have been following this forum since it started few years ago and I found that numerous articles, including many of Dr Jaballah’s articles very helpful. I was, however, very disappointed to read his letter, published on this page dated 11th Nov 05. I think it’s wrong to lump things together and associate people with their cities & towns of origin. In the process he has mentioned Sirte and Tripoli, simply because he doesn’t agree with the political outlook and/or behaviour of various individuals from these cities. Good and bad is a relative opinion as well as, there are good and bad people every where; in villages, towns and cities. This attitude causes more harm than good and it’s better to avoid it in the future and an apology from him is needed.
Most people from Sirte and Tripoli and other Libyan cities, towns and villages are very simple, honest and hard working people. They view the country just this, one country. More such articles will hinder any possible changes, and will take away any potential support from the Libyan people. The majority of Libyans, in my opinion, regardless of background politics agree on one thing. Libya is to stay as a one country.
