Do You Truley Believe?!

On September 9, 2005 I turned on the television to the Libyan channel to see what the latest news was. When I turned on the Libyan channel there was nothing but a celebration on. Dancers danced in large groups on stage and singers took turns to sing. At first I was about to change the channel because I had no interest in what was going on, when suddenly I noticed all the dancers were wearing large photos of Khaddafi’s face on their clothing. The singers were praising the “great” job Khaddafi was doing and how he raised their heads up high when he took over the country. Khaddafi sat in a large chair separated from all others by at least an acre of land. As Khaddafi sat in his bulky chair he shook his head and waved his arms in the air franticly in approval of the singers words. They say if you lie enough you can't tell the difference in whether or not you're lying anymore and you begin to believe your own lies. Khaddafi is living proof of this statement he sat in the audience and showed no sign of guilt for the deceit he allowed these people to commit. I was truly ashamed for him to know that he would go home that night and truly believe he was helping his people and that he really gave us the freedom that we so Longley wanted and were deprived from. I knew he would go home and believe that Libya would have been nowhere if he did not take over 36 years ago. I am beyond doubt upset about the situation and disgusted with his judgment and dictatorship.
