Gaddafi is desperately seeking forgiveness from the the United States for all of his past violent behavior. However, such forgiveness should be sought from Libyans first since they are his primary victims for the past 34 years of his tyranical rule. Libyan Americans will see to it that American forgiveness is conditioned on Libyan forgiveness. A meeting with Senate leaders is planned in a few weeks to discuss US-Libya future ties. Libyans, for good reason, do not trust that Gaddafi is capable of turning back from his past 34 years of terror.
