Concerning Mr. Abdelhamid|
First I would like to apologize that I am writing in English. I wish I could write in Arabic, but unfortunately I canít at this time.
I couldn't help not to respond to some of the articles that attack Mr. Fawzi Abdelhamid and his views about certain political, ethical and religious issues. One of the articles I mean in specific is the one posted by Salim el-Ragi on July 19, 2003 trying to intimidate Mr. Fawzi by asking him to announce his stand from Islam. Mr. Salim, who do you think yourself are to request such stands and exercise such threats? Neither you nor anyone else should have the right to silent another person from expressing himself. You are claiming that you are the advocate of democracy and freedom of speech, so show it rather than just saying it. How can we build democracy if we donít respect different views than those we carry? This is the core substance of democracy and you, as well as some others, have shown that you are totally missing it.
Mr. Fawzi is simply expressing himself about certain issues and he has every right to do so. Whether he is right or wrong is irrelevant. If you disagree with his views, show your disagreement about his views not about him and then try to put down from his personality. If you don't like his views at all, then simply don't read what he writes and let others decide for themselves what to do. No one is forcing you to click your mouse on his articles, so please refrain from unjustly degrading others.
