The Egyptian Well Is Bottomless

Dear Libyans

Although I dream of an Arabic or even a Muslim state where I believe libyans can and will enjoy strength and security added upon prosperity, I have to stand firmly against the late deals between Libya and Egypt.

I think the timing is just remarkable and reminds me of the time when Egypt sucked our blood during the UN sanctions. It is very evident Egypt is asking for a huge price for protecting Libya from an Imagined American Invasion in the form of large investments in the failing Egyptian economy.

The details of the deals have never been published and they are being publicized as "investments" and joint "incorporations" in sectors we never and will never need Egypt for; as it lacks the money the purchasing power and is some times inferior to our standards in those sectors.

Why on earth we export Egyptian gas and refine the oil in Egypt?
Why Egyptian construction that has a long infamous history?
And why not invest in LIBYA?

What we gave egypt before never made the poor better but it goes to the thieves and at the top Hosny Mubarak and his sons. And if we did it to effect their policy I can see how that made Egypt a better Arabic country. Ask the Iraqis who gave Egypt a lot and got nothing.

Hosni Mubarak said don't talk to me about joint defense until we have joint trade. His statement applies only to Libya. We libyans ran into security problems for no cause of ours and we can build a real army if we get rid of Qaddafi the Egyptian slave.

Wake up Libya we have to have some pride and we should start today.

Waaa Libyaaaah...

Baher Mansour
