Muhammad al-Zubaidi: Condolences And Appeal|
Muhammad Massaud Annakkaa Al-Zubaidi, an 85-year-old Libyan man, died July 2002 in Musrata, his new forced exile town. He was evicted with his family from Baniwalid after attempted coup in October 1993. He is the father of Abdullah Muhammad
Masaud, who disappeared in 1982, during his final examination, at the school
of law in the beloved city of Benghazi. The ruling Qaddhafi's clan accused
him of leading the Islamic Liberation Party. The Amnesty International
feared that he was murdered, in its report about Libya in 1998.
Alhaj Muhammad Masaud is the uncle of the late Saad Musbah Al-Zubaidi who
was murdered with others on Jan 2nd, 1997. The Gaddhaf's agents led by
Mohammad Al-Tarouq, refused his burial in his family cemetery in Baniwalid,
and forced his family to bury him in an other site in the same city. There
is a lot of pressure form the Gaddhafi's agents on the local population and
asked them to dig his grave and throw his remains out or they will face the
I appeal to the international and Libyan human rights organizations to intervene and ask Gaddhafi's family to stop this action and to leave this old man rest in
