To Jum'a al-Gemati

Dear Brother Jum'a,

I am a Libyan doctor working in Canada. When I was doing my Ph.D. at one of the largest Canadian universities, there were at least 10 Libyan Ph.D. candidates in all branches of engineering in that school alone. Not a single one of them went back to Libya after completing their degrees; they are all working in industry and academia in both Canada and the USA. A huge number of highly skilled Libyans live in Canada. I personally know at least 20 Ph.D. holders.

I am sure each one of these people would love to be with his love ones back in Libya and serve his country and Uma, if the circumstances were suitable. I have not met a single Libyan who would want to stay in Canada if Libya became a civilized country, respecting freedom and human rights.

Anyway, the reason I am writing to you is to encourage you to continue with the good work you are doing. All noble Libyans appreciate and respect your effort. Please don't waste your time and energy responding to people like the so called Dr. Almuntasir. I can't believe anyone would object to the kind of work you were doing!! But, our country has many strange people and ideas.

Barak Allah Feek and keep up the good work.

Alsalamu Alaykum

T. W.
