What Can We Do?

Alslamu Alaykum,

I agree 100% with the recommendations and suggestions provided by the letter of February 24, 2002 by F. The bloody regime in Libya has zero respect or comprehension for natural moral and ethical codes that govern human interactions. It is NOT enough for Libyans to just get angry and wait for someone else to do the right thing. We must stop being apathetic, helpless, and selfish. Every one of us can do something and little things add up.

I can add one thing to the list provided by F's letter. For those of us living in the West, we can deny Gadafi the opportunity to gain the western forgiveness, which he seeks so desperately. We can expose his ugly face and fake repentance from terrorism and violence. One thing we can do is to contact our political representatives with information, pictures and facts and encourage them to pressure Libya to improve its human rights records as a prerequisite to normalizing relationships. We have enough Libyans, Arabs, and Muslims in western countries to achieve this; Gadafisí reputation and deeds are very helpful in this matter.

May Allah save our country and people from the hands of thugs.

Saif
