Dr. Jaballah Musa|
Dear Dr. Ighneiwa:
First, I'd like to thank you for your great effort in
maintaining this platform for linking Libyans around
the globe. Barak Allahu Feek and congratulations on
this great success!
I am always shocked and appalled of how harsh, mean,
and unfair Libyans are to each other. This backward
mentality is not just limited to the ruling thugs
inside our beloved country. This behavior is also
prevalent amongst highly educated Libyans that have
been living in advanced, civilized societies for
The reason that compelled me to write this note is the
letters that were sent in response to Dr. Jaballah's
writings. I think those responses were totally unfair.
The writer who signed as S on Jan. 10 questioned Dr.
Jaballah's loyalty to his country based on Dr.
Jaballah's letter "Alsagr Alwaheed". I find this
accusation utterly ridiculous!!!! I read every word
in the letter and I am at a loss to find how Mr. S
reached his conclusion. Dr. Jaballah's letter was
insightful, analytical, intelligent, and well written.
Mr. S may disagree with Dr. Jaballah's analysis;
however, throwing wild and serious accusations about
home loyalty are uncalled for. We must make an effort
to learn the art of constructive dialogue. I don't
want to preach, but if we can't treat each other with
kindness and consideration and give others the benefit
of the doubt, at least once in a while, we can hardly
expect to turn Libya to the civilized, democratic
country that every writer to this page dreams about.
