Dear Sir or Madam

Re: Afriqia Airlines IATA License

I am writing to you from Libya Watch for Human Rights which is an independent organization concerned with raising awareness about human rights violations in Libya. As I am sure you are aware, the current situation in Libya is very severe and there have been serious atrocities against helpless individuals being carried out by the Libyan President, his sons and a few of his aides.

The nature of the crimes being carried out in Libya varies but the general international consensus is that it amounts to mass killings and genocide. The killings have been largely enabled by the transportation of mercenaries and weapons from Africa into Libya. We have confirmed reports that these mercenaries and weapons have been transported aboard Afriqiyah Airways which is licensed to be for passenger travel.

As Afriqiyah Airways holds the IATA license, we are formally requesting that this license be withdrawn immediately as the Airline has invoked the rules of the license and has used the planes to carry weapons instead of passengers.

As you can appreciate this matter is of utmost urgency in order to stop the blood bath that is taking place in Libya and your prompt attention to this issue would be much appreciated. Should you have any queries, please feel free to contact me.

Thanking you in advanced for your co-operation.

Yours faithfully

Mr. M. Abdulmalek

Chairman
