Libyan Americans for Human Rights, in its lecture series, is inviting the Muslim Community in Southern California to attend two lectures on human rights. The lectures will be given by a cadre of human rights advocate and experts from Amnesty International USA.

JOINING THE HUMAN RIGHTS MOVEMENT

Alireza Azizi,
Amnesty International USA Board of Directors, Country Specialist - Middle East PhD, Physics; BS, Sharif University of Technology, Iran; is employed at a Jet Propulsion Laboratory. He held numerous positions in AI, including: Local Group Coordinator, Case Coordinator, Member of the Nominations Committee, and Member of the Western Region Planning Group. Participated in Amnesty International research mission to Yemen. Azizi is originally from Iran and has been a member of Amnesty International for three decades.

HUMAN RIGHTS FOR CHANGE

Speaker:
Samer Rabadi
Deputy Regional Director, Amnesty International USA, Western Regional Office Samer Rabadi has been involved with Amnesty International USA for over 11 years, as both a volunteer and on staff. In his current role as Deputy Director for the Western Region, he is responsible for fulfilling the organization's training and human rights education needs in the westernmost 13 states. Mr. Rabadi has planned trainings, conferences, demonstrations, and a number of other events. He has spoken about and conducted workshops on anti-torture work, event planning, human rights history, activist skills, and other human rights related topics.
